Why Patterns Matter on Wave Chaser Gloves
The Driver Gloves | Wave Chaser is another glove finish where the pattern makes a big difference. Depending on the pattern ID, the dragon design can look completely different — sometimes you get a full, clean dragon with the paw visible, and other times the artwork looks cut off or pushed to one side.
The best patterns are the ones where the full dragon design is visible, including the paw, with strong placement across both gloves. These are usually the pairs collectors and traders look for first.
So in this guide, I ranked the patterns based on:
- How complete the dragon design looks — is the full body visible including the paw?
- How well the dragon is positioned on the gloves
- How symmetrical the pattern is across both hands
- Overall visual balance — does the pair look clean at a glance?
🏆 High Tier — Full Dragon Patterns
These are the strongest patterns for Wave Chaser gloves. They feature a complete dragon design with the paw visible, clean placement, and very good symmetry between both hands. If you want the best possible look, this is the category to focus on.
Example: Pattern #860
Pattern #860 is a textbook example of a full dragon pattern. The design is complete, well-centred, and looks balanced across both gloves. This is exactly what collectors usually mean when they talk about premium Wave Chaser patterns.

These often sell above market price, especially on clean floats. If you're sitting on one of these seeds, don't list it at market without checking what pattern-aware buyers are paying.
🥇 Tier 1 — Very Strong Patterns
Tier 1 patterns still look excellent, but they may not have the same perfect placement as the High Tier seeds. You still get a very clean dragon design, good symmetry, and strong visual impact — just slightly less perfect than the top category.
Example: Pattern #298
Pattern #298 is a very strong seed with solid dragon visibility and good balance across both gloves. It's the type of pattern most players would be very happy to own.

Usually sells at market price or a small premium.
🥈 Tier 2 — Good Patterns
Tier 2 patterns still look good in-game, but the dragon placement is less complete or less symmetrical compared to Tier 1. You might see small clipping, weaker positioning, or a less balanced appearance between hands. Still solid gloves — just not collector-tier.
Example: Pattern #17
Pattern #17 is a good example of a typical Tier 2 seed. The dragon is visible and recognizable, but the placement isn't as strong as higher tiers.

Usually sells at normal market price.
🥉 Tier 3 — Decent Patterns
Tier 3 patterns are still perfectly usable and can look nice, but the dragon placement is noticeably weaker. You'll often see an incomplete dragon image, less symmetry, or more clipping and off-centre placement. These patterns are usually bought for looks rather than collector value.
Example: Pattern #237
Pattern #237 shows a typical Tier 3 layout where the dragon design is present but not strongly positioned.

If you're buying on a budget, Tier 3 patterns at market price are honestly fine. They still look good in-game — you're just not going to get a premium if you resell.
⬇️ Tier 4 — Low Placement Patterns
Tier 4 patterns have the weakest placement overall. The dragon image may be poorly positioned, heavily clipped, or visually unbalanced. These patterns usually sell strictly at market price and don't attract collector interest.
Example: Pattern #238
Pattern #238 is a good example of a lower-tier layout with suboptimal positioning.

🐉 Special Category — Right Dragon Patterns
These patterns mainly show the dragon on the right glove, while the left glove has much less visible artwork. They can still look interesting, but they don't offer the same visual balance as full dragon patterns.
These are usually valued based on float, wear, and overall appearance rather than pattern rarity. Don't expect a pattern premium on these.
📋 TL;DR — Quick Pattern Summary
If you want the best possible look, go for High Tier or Tier 1. If you just want a nice pair without paying extra, Tier 2 or Tier 3 is usually the better value.
💰 Quick Buying Tip
Always check the pattern ID before buying. Two Wave Chaser gloves with the same float can look completely different depending on the pattern. A full dragon pattern will almost always look better in-game and may hold value better over time.
